If you've followed my posts you'd have noticed that I incorporate my famous Nyummies Leftover Mix into a few of my yummiest recipes and its for good reason... it's delicious! If you want to know how to make this mix, this is the post for you!
Basically the mix is made up of all dry leftovers from snacks and lunchboxes throughout the week which I keep in a sealed zippy bag or jar and when its full I blend it up with a cup or two of dry oats to create my mix. This forms a base for tons of cookie, crunchy or crumb recipes that I use.
I'm a big fan of "no waste" recipes and if you're a parent of small kids, you know just how many plates of snacks end up in the bin throughout the week. Well.... not anymore!
Here are some of the things I add to my leftover mix jar during the week :
CANDY COATED CHOCOLATE (LIKE SMARTIES)
DRY CEREAL (LIKE PUFFS/OTEES)
*Store dry leftovers in a sealed airtight container/jar/zippy bag*
When this jar/zippy bag is full I blend it together with 1 or 2 cups of dry oats and use it for recipes when I need it.
You can add milk to it for "over night oats"with a twist and serve it the next morning for breakfast, serve it as a trail mix or use it as a base for a lot of the recipes on my site.
