Pear + Cauli + Sweet potato + Coconut milk + Chia

Not only will the flavour surprise you, but how much your baby will love this stage two purée will just knock your socks off! It can be served at any time of day AND as a nutritious pudding or ice lolly!


  • 3 cups of freshly chopped and semi-peeled pears (I leave half the skins on for added fibre)

  • 2 cups of diced sweet potato (white/orange/pink doesn't matter). I dice the sweet potato into thumbnail size cubes for quick cooking.

  • 2 cups of raw chopped up cauliflower. Chop small for quick cooking.

  • 1/2 cup of cooked quinoa. I like to cook quinoa ahead of time and freeze in 1/2 cup portions

  • 3/4 cup coconut milk.

Here's a visual for the size to chop sweet potato/pears/cauliflower(the smaller the quicker and more evenly it will steam) :

Method :

  1. Place chopped cauliflower, sweet potato + pears into the steamer and steam for 15-20min (or until sweet potato is soft).

  2. Put all the cooked ingredients into a bowl (still hot/warm) , add coconut milk and blend until smooth and creamy.

  3. Lastly, add cooked quinoa to the bowl and stir until combined well and serve! :-)

*You can freeze this purée into cubes for future use and store frozen for up to 3months in a sealed container/bag*
