Baked Banana Chia Bars

Looking for an easy bake that you can serve from 6months + ?

These banana chia seed bars are quick to make and are mild enough in flavour to serve as a vehicle for amazing toppings like jams, nut spreads or a good old fashioned smear of butter. They are great on their own too for babies or toddlers that are weary of bold flavours.

Makes 12 bars

Prep Time : 10min

Bake Time : 15-20min

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 medium sized ripe bananas (mashed well)

  • 1 cup of self raising wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 1 egg (beaten with a fork)

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven and Mix together mashed bananas, chia seeds, beaten egg, oil + cinnamon

  2. Make a well in the flour, add the wet ingredient mix and whisk until combined to make a cake batter.

  3. Grease your baking mould and pour batter into mould.

  4. Bake for 15-20min @ 180*C until golden brown and when poked with a toothpick, it comes out clean.

These little bars are of a denser consistency and are ideal for baby/toddler self feeding.

Perfect for snacks, parties, lunchboxes, teething (serve frozen).

Enjoy!
